Ricardo Castro honored as 2013-14 Chancellor’s Fellow
Professor Ricardo Castro has been honored as 2013-2014 Chancellor’s Fellow. As part of this highly selective and prestigious honor he will receive a one-time award of $25,000 to support his research, service, and teaching activities. He will also have the honor of using the title, “Chancellor’s Fellow”, until July, 2018. CHMS has now had two Chancellor’s Fellows in consecutive years as Nael El-Farra was the recipient of the honor last year. To our knowledge this is unprecedented for department.
Established in 2000, the Chancellor’s Fellow Program honors outstanding faculty members early in their careers for their achievements as well as the potential that they show in their fields. The program is supported by funds from the Chancellor’s Club and the annual fund of the University of California, Davis.
