Gentry’s research focuses on improving the materials science and engineering curriculum to better support student learning. She is specifically interested in using simulations and computer-based tools to enhance student learning in engineering while developing students’ computer literacy. She is also interested in understanding the experience of students who transfer to the College of Engineering from a community college. She develops new curricula and educational activities that support the diverse student population at UC Davis.
