Mass and charge transport at solid interfaces; oxygen-, Li-, Na-ion and proton conduction in solids; solid oxide fuel cells and batteries

Kim’s research group focuses on the determination, prediction and tuning of charge carrier concentration and mobility at interfaces in nanostructured conducting solids. The group uses the precise knowledge of the controlling parameters with the goal of developing next-generation electrochemical devices such as fuel cells, batteries and supercapacitors by using and manipulating the electrical nature of interfaces in the functional materials.
